Today (7 Feb 09) my wife and I went to the Timonium Bike Show here in Maryland. It was one of the biggest shows I’ve ever been too. There was a lot of big names there to include the V-Force guys…they seemed to be popular. It took us about 4 hours to walk around to look at all the bikes and vendors, to include all the bikes that were rode there by the local bikers. There were some small companies that I’ve never heard off, but built some great bikes. It’s definitely a show that I will be going back to next year. Hope you enjoy the pics. Duckman's Cadbike 33 Words: Katharina Klimpke Photos: Volker Rost and The Daily Chain With his Cadbike 33 Mark "Duckman" van der Kwaak designed one of the most beautiful BMW's we ever have shown to you. He is one of the Netherlands Top-Customizers, a man who is building dreambikes in a row. With his design shop DBBP (Duckman's Bitchin Biker Page) the native Australian Mark van der Kwaak, better known as "Duckman" made it up to more than 100 articles in the bike magazines, since 1991. Mark is working hard and fast. While we are writing about bike No.33, No.45 is finished, almost.
In the beginning Duckman's Cadbikes are nothing more than virtual journeys on a computer. With a CAD-Software Mark develops his bikes, including every important detail like rake, handling and other things to make a bike practicable. "The handling of a bike is exactly calculable", Mark sais, explaining his 3-D designs. Like all the bikes before, Mark started the design for the BMW Bobber on his computer, but it was a heart thing for him to bring it on the road, because it was one of his own bikes from the shop. In 2005 he began with rebuilding his old BMW R/51 and made the first designs.

The competition was divided into four different classes, Metric, Modified Harley-Davidson, Production, and the creme de la creme, the Freestyle Class. The awards ceremony began promptly at 3:00 pm CST with master of ceremony Chris McGee keeping the packed hall of anxious competitors and spectators entertained.
